Where the cold waters of the
Labrador current meet the clear warm gulf
Stream waters, lies a place called the "Graveyard of the Atlantic".
as long as men have sailed the seas, they have found their way to the
Barrier Islands of North Carolina. But their arrival has not
been a pleasant one. For many of these vessels, the hazardous
shoals, German U-boats, and just plain old sailor error have determined
their fate. Weather in the Graveyard is unpredictable and can
the span of a few minutes. The shifting sand shoals
about, providing a challenge for even the seasoned mariner.
irony is that many of these ships who dared to take their chances close
to the shores of North Carolina now sit on the bottom of the Atlantic,
a testament to Man VS Nature.
The Graveyard Hunters is a group of locals who like to
get together and dive and spearfish. Although we call ourselves a
"dive club", we don't have bylaws or formal meetings. We don't
take our selves too seriously, and this also goes for us as
individuals. The result is a group of fun-loving divers that like
to hang out hang out and get along remarkably well without the
fractionalizing and politics that is often found in other clubs.
We are a very like minded group of divers, and because of this our
membership is rather small and grows slowly. This is also the
reason we don't need a formal political organization to run the group,
we are non-organized, but not un-organized.
Membership in the Graveyard Hunters is quite simple. All that is necessary is a love of diving and spearfishing and respect for fellow divers. If that sounds like you, then come stalk with us.

Whether you're looking for cool stuff, or just need SCUBA visual
inspection or hydro service, The Graveyard Gang has you covered.
If you have to have a visual inspection decal on your cylinder anyway,
why not have a cool one? Unlike the dive shops, our visual
cylinder inspection turn around time is usually the same day, and in
most cases we can do it while you wait. Our visual cylinder
inspections are done by a PSI Certified inspector, so you know you're
getting the gold standard when it comes to cylinder safety. We
also offer FREE vessel safety inspections by a United States Power
certified vessel inspector. If your vessel meets all the
requirements of the Coast Guard safety inspection, you will be awarded
a decal to affix to the port side of your vessel to notify Marine
Patrol and Coasst Guard that you have already been inspected for the
calendar year. This may save you a citation and fine from the
